I have a reason... I don't like it, and it seems kinda wrong although I can't really explain why I think that.
But nvm
Should this be implemented against all odds, I'd still not like it, but wouldn't go QQ or complain.

BLAHAHAHHAAHAHA, do want!!
This would be great... I'd make all my minions look like Prince Rurik.
I will attack my enemies with a swarm of about three-quarter-dozen four-foot-tall Prince Ruriks. Good god yes. Yes, yes, a thousand times YES!!

The problem with putting off inconsequential changes to the game because there are "more important" ones that need doing first is that there will always be more important changes.
Every fix creates a number of other problems needing fixes, it will never end.
If an inconsequential change is easily done and will add interest to the game why ever not.
Only the programmers know how difficult each change is likely to be, don't forget there is likely to be a load of redundant code already in the game.
For all we know they considered the idea of minions looking like the dead creature they are animated from but abandoned the idea.
Hard to judge what changes should be made to the game when we have no idea of the work involved.

If you want Lore, the Norn teleports to you but the Necromancer uses the teleportation powers such as Consume Corpse to transport the Norn to the Corpse.

Oh snap, Norn doesn't pop out of the Imp, they are teleported!

get a marker and write, 'Teleport Norn Warrior.'

Consume Corpse is a Death Magic skill, so it still make sense mechanic wise with Lore.

Okay. Explain logically how you can get a Margonite demon to teleport through the ground from the Realm of Torment into a random cadaver that could be anywhere in Elona, Tyria, or Cantha. And explain why it wouldn't try to attack you on first sight since you made it climb through intestines and flesh and crap to an unfamiliar land.

Look through Sardelac's threads. I think you will find that a very large portion of "/notsigned"s are given without an actual reason. People do this all the time - they say that they find it wierd or silly or they give some opinion about how they would feel ingame with this change without actually giving a reason as to why it should not be implimented. Yes, I do find this stupid, and yes, I do wish that people would state actual reasons as to why they are /notsigning, and why exactly this would be a bad change, when they do /notsign.
Sorry, but this has really been frustrating me for some time now. It seems like people are disagreeing just to be disagreeable.
Anyway, as for the original suggesion, it does seem kinda wierd to me lore-wise. Necromancers raise undead minions. If other undead or zombieish minion skins were implimented, that would be cool, but beyond that...

Yet there are many suggestions that are given without any argument other than " it would be cool " to support it... You know , when you suggest something , you need to give examples and explain how it could make the game better or more enjoyable....
So yes , people sometimes don't tell why they're saying /notsigned , but on the otherside i think the one who gives the idea should give arguments to make people /signed no??

Apostle/The Lost has a hidden battlement of renegade Margonites to help your cause.
If not, you must be a very good necromancer at the art of Brain washing.

Uhh... okay then. o.O
What I'd possibly sign for is some skill that causes whatever minion summoned to have the skin of whatever creature they were summoned from. And the minion would possibly have their skills too.
Something along the lines of:
Zombie Apocalypse (or w/e) (Elite)
Death Magic
x cost
x cast time
x recharge
Spell. Creates a level 3...21...25 undead zombie minion that takes the form and skills of its corpse. This minion lives for 1...18...20 seconds or until killed. Exploits a fresh corpse. Only one zombie minion can be under your control at a time. Does not affect boss corpses.
I dunno. Sounds a bit absurd, but less than the OP, imo.

There is already a zombie skill, Malign Intervention.
I am not interested in a skill where you revive the enemies you just killed. It does not coincide with my suggestion.

@zombies:
My all-time, longest running suggestion has always been to move Vengeance to the necromaner's Death Magic attribute and rename it to "Animate Dead Friend".
*sigh*

I tried looking around Texmod, but it seems that I can't change the Minion's skins.
This is a cash cow that Anet can exploit from us. Why not press into that advantage?
With the MM heroes, I would gladly pay for my Bone Horror to look like a Warrior. They don't even need to have a team to create new models.

Tbh, it'd be a neat little thing. Lore doesn't really matter. It's just a cosmetic fun thing. Call them 'really realistic zombies' that form into the shape of a pre-specified creature, if you want to be lore-specific - which would be why skills don't change, as it's still a corpse, albeit an extremely realistic looking Margonite (as an example).
Bit silly, but it'd also be fun for some.

OK, so Necromancers should be general summoners pulling random armies of whatever out their asses? Maybe my spirits should pop up as Unicorns vomiting rainbows? Its not just a lore issue, its a common sense issue. Necromancers use the corpses of their victims to create little undead ghouls, not an army of fluffy reskins of things that actually fit into other sections of the game. This is akin to asking Anet to sell in game store items such as daggers skinned with Dhuum's Soulreaper. We all like aspects of the game, but lets be a little less "noob" about those suggestions. Try being less defensive when people are pointing out the clear flaws in your logic, and remember that the in game store isn't a traditional cash shop as in most games.

What about festival event skins?
IE: XMAS elves minions, haloween jack 'o' lantern minion ect ect
I like the idea of different skins, atleast some more variety would be cool... but it would make a minor difference, and only really effect one build so : / .
/notsigned
because texmod can probably do it any way.

I just want the undead scarab creature shown on the Bone Minions skill. That would make me happy.

I wouln't mind if a minion raised from a plant looked like made out roots, leaves bark and twigs, or looking like skeletons when you raise a minion from a mummy, or if you could 'raise' a dead corpse and bring it back as a 'revenant' to your side for a few seconds (as a PvE skill, of course).
Oh, and the bone minions should be Scarab reskins!
But from there to 'custom minions' that look nothing like minions? Nah. No way in UW.

They should only keep it to undead themes and actually still restrict some of them like Undead Rurick. They should also make bone minions actually look like undead scarabs, for free ofc. Just bringing this up while were on the subject but they should have put a bone dragon minion in the game.
